Nicholas Woodfield's Portfolio

"The best way to predict the future is to implement it."

Welcome! This is my personal portfolio website that is aimed to be a companion resource for my resume and to showcase projects I have worked on in the past, or currently am working on.

In May of 2010 I graduated with Honors from the University of Connecticut (UConn). I majored in Computer Science and Engineering and minored in Mathematics. I am currently looking for a full time software development position.

I love designing and writing code, and have always striven for excellence in whatever I do. In school I enjoyed doing my own projects outside of my academic work. There is nothing more satisfying than working through and solving a problem or seeing something I have designed take shape and come to life. I also love exploring and learning about new technologies and investigating solutions to problems that I don't know the answer to - which I feel is an important trait to have in this field I have chosen to be in.

One of my passions in computer science is the field of 3D Graphics technology. It's an area that I was active in during my undergraduate career at my university, as I participated in graphics research and implemented graphics software for my Honors Thesis. In addition, I find tools development to be an exciting area to develop in. Most of what is showcased on this site fall into those two categories.

Currently, I am actively working on an open source project - a 3D Graphics Engine. This is my largest project to date, and is derivative of my honors work at UConn. You can find more information about it in my projects page.
